Franky Wah

Yorkshire native Franky Wah brings the party wherever he’s called on to perform. That may mean Ibiza, a sweaty club in his home country, or a bottle night at a VIP space in Vegas. No matter where he’s beckoned to, he showcases his unique spin on modern EDM, which takes elements of deep house, disco, techno, and more. Each of these styles is blended with the ecstatic catharsis—slow builds, extreme drops—that has become a hallmark of 2010s and 2020s dance music. Wah first emerged with the Rituals EP in 2018, whose title track favours the signifiers of tropical house: The bass is rubbery, the drums accented with handclaps, and the synths transportative to a Balearic utopia. By 2023, he brings his sound oceanside, cooking up hedonistic thrillers on Road To Ibiza. A year later, he detours with Dusk Til Dawn, which features the slow-build rush of tension-filled EDM, teaming up with Zoe Kypri and AR/CO to give the work a soulful balance.
