Iamneeta

Composed of Neeta (vocals), Patrick (guitar) and Anas (bass), pop-rock trio Iamneeta and its eponymous frontwoman are inseparable—not that the band mind that their exposure is automatically elevated in line with Neeta’s solo profile soaring since she joined Big Stage. But their real secret weapon is lead songwriter Patrick, whose instinct that a ’90s-inflected reverence for Malay alt-rock (“Sakit”) and theatrical Indo-pop (“Ilusi”) would fare better than adopting rock tropes from the West. Like Neeta’s lilting, keening vocals, his pop savvy is inseparable from the band’s DNA.
