About Shakka
UK singer, songwriter, and producer Shakka has deftly leapt between genres—R&B, reggae, dance, and more—while collaborating with some of the biggest names in British music. • The son of a reggae musician, Shakka studied music as a child in London and self-released his debut EP, Foolishness, in 2009. • After earning notice with a 2011 mixtape (The Shakka Crown Affair) and various YouTube covers and remixes, Shakka toured with Basement Jaxx and collaborated with British rapper Wretch 32 on his 2013 hit “Blackout,” which reached No. 6 on the UK charts. • Since releasing his major label debut EP, The Lost Boys, in 2015, he’s collaborated with the likes of Jme (“Say Nada [Remix]”), AlunaGeorge (“Man Down”), Wiley (“Certified”), and Young Thug (“Don’t Call Me,” with Carnage). • Shakka won Best R&B/Soul Artist at the 2015 and 2016 MOBO Awards.
