The rise to stardom of Dennis Junior Odunwo, a.k.a. Tion Wayne, has been stealthy. The North London-born rapper first came to the attention of hip-hop heads in 2014 thanks to his Wayne’s World mixtape, and then made a name for himself working with Afrobeats stalwarts NSG and grime-adjacent YouTuber KSI. It was his kinetic partnership with Russ Millions that pushed him into the mainstream, though, when their bouncing duet “Body” became the first drill song to enter the UK charts at No. 1 in 2021. And a major endorsement from Ed Sheeran, when Tion was invited to rap on the remix of “Bad Habits,” hasn’t hurt his profile, either.
