Yuridia's huge voice and fresh way with a power ballad took her from second place on Season 4 of the Mexican talent competition La Academia to centre stage in the world of Latin pop. Her ability to balance powerhouse vocals with emotional nuance allows her to convincingly play the role of a woman wounded but unbroken, as she does in the songs “Te Equivocaste” and “Irremediable.” Her 2006 album Habla el Corazón showcased these emotive gifts with covers of '80s torch songs such as “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado,” her much-loved version of Bon Jovi's "This Ain't a Love Song."
