We Came As Romans have never been afraid to pair metalcore signifiers—namely, slashing guitars and a mix of clean and unclean vocals—with more adventurous sounds. On album number five, these detours take the form of atmospheric, digitally focused textures. "Two Hands" boasts a sparks-shooting electronic underbelly, while starry-eyed keyboards shimmer throughout the melodic pop-rock standout "Lost in the Moment", and the striking "Encoder" is a diffracted industrial rocker that kicks off with a dance-floor-worthy disco motif.
