While his debut record, 2022’s TEZ FILAM, gave us a glimpse of his life in a tough Delhi neighbourhood, rapper Ab 17 describes this mixtape—made with regular producer Sez on the Beat—as a collection that “covers everything from love, sex and culture to violence, ego and lust”. The set, titled after Ab 17’s alter ego Mr. Baawe, is a decidedly over-18s affair, with the MC boasting about his carnal pursuits while also reflecting on his struggles with mental health. It should further his reputation as one of the most distinct voices emerging out of the capital’s ever-compelling hip-hop scene.
