The beats on this album sound like dubs of dubs—slowly rolling audio snowballs that pick up all sorts of odd debris. Where "This a Year Fe Rebels" adds bleating harmonica to a surprisingly tender track, cool sound-clash jam "Number One in the World" is crisscrossed by reverberation long detached from any original source. Half the fun is hearing how different deejays ride these uncanny riddims. The mighty poet I-Roy even tries to match the heady music, sending his languid call echoing through the thick groove of "Rasta on a Sunday".
