The music of Norwegian electronic producer Lindstrøm often sounds like a lost sci-fi/action soundtrack or exercise jams from the VHS era—a style at once chintzy and cool, retro and eerily timeless. Sitting somewhere between 2012’s super-streamlined Smalhans and the proggy Six Cups of Rebel, his fourth solo album is a colourful exploration of classic diva house (“Shinin'”), cosmic instrumentals (“Tensions”, “Under Trees”) and the unclassifiable terrain in between (the Jenny Hval-featuring “Bungl (Like a Ghost)”).
