Though Natalia Jiménez’s roots are firmly in European soil, the singer’s career truly blossomed once she relocated from Spain to Mexico. In the years since La Quinta Estación disbanded, her solo outings like Homenaje a la Gran Señora, a 2016 tribute to the late Jenni Rivera, have further cemented her status as one of the country’s most admired performers. (It doesn’t hurt that she’s also starred on Mexico’s version of The Voice.) In that same spirit, México de Mi Corazón pays homage to the musical majesty of mariachi. With the added benefit of an appreciative live audience, Jiménez’s cover songs and collaborations with the likes of Banda MS, Pedro Fernández and Lila Downs make for a momentous and uplifting experience.
