Paradigm Shift continue a mind-expanding narrative journey that began with their 2012 debut, Coalescence. As a thematic prequel, Sammukh features the Hindi fusion/prog-rock band’s signature sound. It marries a Carnatic violin with reverb-laden guitar hooks, and is pulled into a cohesive whole by Kaushik Ramchandran's astounding vocal range. On "Bekhabar", menacing percussive quakes give way to a morose piano without a moment's notice. For the dreamlike title track, the band's instrumental proficiency is on full display.
