Doug E. Fresh

As the Original Human Beatbox, Doug E. Fresh's involvement in hip-hop's 1980s formative years can not be underestimated. In collaboration with Slick Rick, Fresh and his Get Fresh Crew released two monumental golden era singles, "La Di Da Di" and "The Show." While subsequent commercial success would elude Fresh in the decades that followed those releases, the consummate performer continued to rock crowds well into the 2000s, putting on shows that overflowed with an exciting back-in-the-day vibe and Fresh's astounding ability to recreate the turntable scratches and boom-bap beats of the old school.
