Rapper SSG Splurge is a rising MC out of East Arlington, Texas, whose menacing trap music has transfixed the next generation of hip-hop fans. • Splurge got into music at age 15, when he wrote a song to perform at his birthday party. The celebration got canceled, but he released the track anyway, and it became a local smash. • His 2018 breakout single, “Backwoods,” expanded his fanbase outside of his city. • The rapper garnered millions of video views with follow-up songs like 2018’s “Beat By Jeff” and “Intro Part. 2”. • The success of Splurge’s early music brought attention from superstar rappers like Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert, who danced to one of SSG’s songs in a social media video. • As of 2020, Splurge had released the mixtapes Glen Baby (2018), Glockeeeee (2018), Go!
