Taso

California-based producer Taso (Anastasios Ioannis Skalkos III) has recorded tracks in numerous styles, but he's received the most attention for his association with juke/footwork collective Teklife. His footwork tracks often cross-pollinate between the other styles he produces, and while they're frequently hedonistic and drug-fueled, they're just as often smooth and relaxed. He has collaborated extensively with other Teklife members and the group Truth. After releasing the dubstep and trap-centric albums, he focused on footwork for his Teklife til tha Next Life albums, released in 2014 and 2015. He collaborated with Jessy Lanza and DJ Spinn on 2015's "You Never Show Your Love," and in 2016 released eight Cold Heat EPs and the New Start LP. ~ Paul Simpson
