About The Word Alive

For more than a decade, Arizona metalcore outfit The Word Alive has pushed the boundaries of the genre while combining heavy riffs with melody. ∙ Though his tenure was short, Escape the Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt founded the group alongside guitarists Zack Hansen and Tony Pizzuti in 2008. ∙ After signing to L.A. punk label Fearless Records, The Word Alive debuted with the 2009 EP Empire, which climbed to No. 15 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. ∙ Beginning with their 2010 debut LP, Deceiver, the band’s first four albums reached the top half of the Billboard 200. ∙ In 2012, 19-year-old online drumming sensation Luke Holland joined the group, remaining with them until the end of 2016. ∙ The Word Alive collaborated with electronic acts The Glitch Mob and Mako on “RISE,” the theme song for 2018’s League of Legends World Championship.
