Norteño singer Adriel Favela was born in San Francisco but grew up in the Mexican border state of Sonora, and he infuses his regional music with the sounds of the big banda ensembles of Sinaloa. He released his debut, Favela por Herencia, in 2011 when he was just 18, and broke through as a norteño heartthrob with the tongue-in-cheek title track to 2014’s Mujeres de Tu Tipo. Favela became a bona fide sensation with his fifth LP, 2018’s Señalado por Costumbre, clocking vibrant, celebrated corridos with stars Omar Ruíz and Javier Rosas.
