The son of renowned classical singer Pashupati Bhattacharya, Kedernath Bhattacharya, a.k.a. Kumar Sanu, followed in the footsteps of his father at a very young age. Eventually Sanu became fascinated with Bollywood music and Kishore Kumar and decided to explore his fortunes as a playback singer. He moved to Mumbai and, after years of struggle, got his big break with Aashiqui. The movie made him an overnight star—the Padma Shri winner has been unstoppable ever since.
