About Mt. Wolf
English dream pop outfit Mt. Wolf's atmospheric blend of chamber pop, folk, electronic, and R&B has drawn comparisons to artists like James Blake, Bat for Lashes, Bon Iver, and Beach House. Formed in 2011, initially as a quartet, the band issued their debut EP, Life Size Ghosts, in 2012, followed by a second EP, Hypolight, in 2013. The band's elegant and brooding pop confections found favor with both critics and the public, but the departure of co-founder and lead vocalist Kate Sproule in 2014 rendered the band's future uncertain. Regrouping as a trio around vocalist Sebastian "Bassi" Fox, guitarist Stevie McMinn, and drummer Al Mitchell, Mt. Wolf returned in 2015 with a new EP, Red, which relied heavily on the distinctive croon of Fox, with newcomer Alexa Harley lending her considerable pipes to a song as well. The following year saw the trio issue their fourth EP, Hex. May 2017 brought Mt. Wolf's first album, with production from Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, M83), Aetherlight. ~ James Christopher Monger
