About Triana
Spanish experimental rock band Triana was formed in the mid-'70s by ex-Los Payos guitarist Eduardo Rodríguez, drummer Juan José Palacios, and ex-Tabaca Jesús de la Rosa. Triana's first album, called El Patio, was released in 1974. Soon after, the band was touring the local club circuit, recording Hijos Del Agobio in 1977 and Sombra y Luz in 1979. In the 1980s, Triana turned into a pop/rock style, releasing Un Encuentro and a self-titled record in 1981. On October 13th, 1983, Jesús de la Rosa passed away after a car accident. That tragic event ended in the band's breakup. It was in 1994 when Juan José Palacios decided to form a new Triana, touring Spain, playing the old songs, and recording Un Jardín Electrico in 1997, followed by 1998's En Libertad. ~ Drago Bonacich
