Before Mariah Carey, even before Nat “King” Cole, the undisputed king of Christmas music was Bing Crosby. His famous rendition of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” is still by some measures the best-selling single of all time. But his holiday recordings run the gamut from the sacred (“Adeste Fideles” was an annual staple of his radio broadcasts) to the downright silly (“Mele Kalikimaka”, featuring his frequent collaborators The Andrews Sisters, is an ode to a holiday spent in Hawaii). And who could forget his late-career duet with David Bowie on “Peace on Earth/The Little Drummer Boy”? Make it a classic Christmas with some of Bing’s festive favourites.
