Surrounded by flamenco since childhood, Kiki Morente honours the legacy of his trailblazing father, Enrique Morente, while also offering a gripping vision for the future of the genre. His guitar-fuelled 2017 debut, Albayzín, drew on his Andalusian roots, melding sinuous tango and fandango with fast-paced bulerías. In the 2020s, Morente unveiled more contemporary preoccupations with the sensuous, electronic-hued El Cante (2021) and later Azabache (2024), in which his musical family join him on a seductive modern rumba alongside reggaeton touches. Also in 2024, he recorded a polyrhythmic urban duet with singer Omar Montes.
