Singer, songwriter, and producer Amanda Perez is best known for heartfelt early-2000s R&B singles like “Angel” and “Never”. • Perez was discovered by a talent scout in her hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Signed to the indie label Powerhouse and released her debut album, Where You At?, in 2002. • Written and produced by Perez herself, the album caught the attention of major labels. Virgin reissued the album with a new track listing under the title Angel in 2003, introducing Perez’s rap-tinged R&B sound to a wider audience.
