JR Writer

A world-class rapper and an exceptional freestyler, J.R. Writer has a longstanding reputation as an artist's artist, one who consistently prioritizes lyrical skill over passing trends. Since starting out in the Harlem rap scene in the early 2000s, Writer has consistently evolved creatively, primarily honing his craft on a series of mixtapes but expanding his reach to work with notable artists including Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, and Royce Da 5'9". His affiliations with Dipset/the Diplomats made him part of a specific brand of influential hip-hop in the 2000s, but Writer continued growing outside of those associations, consistently releasing new solo work such as his 2022 release Still Making History.
