Hitmaking producer Sky Rompiendo has played a crucial and consistent part during Feid’s rise to Latin superstardom. Their collaborations like “Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo” and “Normal”, to name but a few, impacted the global charts and became fan favourites. As the self-explanatory title states, LOS 9 DE FERXXO Y SKY ROMPIENDO once again combines the respective powers of both artists, this time as one concise set. Naturally, reggaetón reigns here, by way of the throb and thump of “ESTOY PUTIAO” with Dei V and the decidedly futurist perreo edge of “KLKHAY”. On “PPCP”, Sky’s fusion of delicate piano with a rugged beat is made even more marvellous by Feid’s luxe lyricism. Still, they’re arguably even more intriguing a pair when they venture away from dembow-driven material and take bigger genre swings, noticeably so on the hip-hop groover “11PM EN ST. REGIS” and the R&B-coded Majid Jordan teamup “AGAIN”. A veritable clubland lullaby, “DE REPENTE” flips the rhythmic script in more than one way, vacillating between ethereal techno and half-speed breaks.
