Aluna

Aluna Francis is a British dance music artist whose star soared throughout the 2010s as half of electronic duo AlunaGeorge. Born in Wales in 1988, Aluna is the daughter of Jamaican and Indian parents, who eventually separated and raised the budding vocalist in London and New Jersey. In 2005, she began fronting electronic experimentalists My Toys Like Me, with whom she released two full-length albums before linking up with producer George Reid and embarking into more danceable waters. AlunaGeorge's throbbing 2013 debut, Body Music, was acclaimed by the BBC and BRIT Awards, but their chart breakthrough came later that year with a feature on massive Disclosure single “White Noise”. In 2020, Aluna released her debut solo LP, Renaissance, a joyful collection that boasted collaborations with KAYTRANADA and Princess Nokia and celebrated Detroit and Chicago house music's Black trailblazers.
