About Graeme Steele Johnson

American clarinetist Graeme Steele Johnson gained publicity for his rediscovery of an Octet for two clarinets, harp, and strings by composer Charles Martin Loeffler. He performed widely as a soloist and chamber player, even during his student years. Johnson is also active as a writer about music and contributes program notes for various musical ensembles. His recording debut came in 2021 when he appeared on the clarinet-and-strings album The Art of Transcription. Johnson appeared on the world premiere recording of Loeffler's Octet in 2024.
