About Jean-Jacques Goldman
French pop icon Jean-Jacques Goldman started his career as a member of the mid-’70s progressive rock band Taï Phong before he decided to go solo. ∙ After receiving heavy airplay on French radio station RTL, his 1981 midtempo pop single “Il suffira d'un signe” was certified Gold. ∙ The rock-oriented 1985 single “Je te donne,” a collaboration with Welsh singer Michael Jones, spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the French charts. ∙ Outside of his own work, Goldman wrote and produced for French superstar Johnny Hallyday, notably 1985’s double-Platinum LP Gang. ∙ He produced and wrote most of the songs on Céline Dion’s 1995 full-length LP, D’eux, which is the best-selling French language album of all time. ∙ Goldman won a Grammy Award for his contributions to Céline Dion’s 1996 global pop blockbuster, Falling into You. ∙ Joe Cocker and Ray Charles interpreted Goldman’s songs, and he cowrote Patricia Kaas’ 1997 hit “Quand j'ai peur de tout” with Diane Warren.
