Oscar-nominated composer Alan Silvestri's working relationship with director Robert Zemeckis and several major film franchises has elevated him to the upper echelons of the soundtrack industry. He began writing for low-budget features and television in the early ‘70s, but received a career boost when Zemeckis tapped him to write the music for Romancing the Stone. Silvestri has composed for all of the director's features, including Back to the Future and Forrest Gump; his brawny scores for Zemeckis also led to work on The Avengers and Night at the Museum.
