CES Cru—the two-man squad of Ubiquitous and Godemis—has been around for a while now; the duo is the latest addition to Tech N9ne's growing Strange Music empire. Coming out of Kansas City, CES Cru has been a featured guest on a few affiliated projects, and has also recently dropped the well-received solo mixtapes The Deevil and Matter Don't Money. Though only seven tracks deep, 13 is an impressive debut EP, loaded with burly beats and undeniably catchy production from in-house talent like Smart Alec, Info Gates, Seven, and Koko. If you're already down with the Strange sound, you're definitely gonna love this; even if you're not, the two emcees have an undeniable chemistry, relentless charisma, and lyrics for days. Ubi sounds a lot like Eminem, while Godemis flexes a vaguely Brotha Lynch Hung–influenced steez. They sound perfectly at home together, especially on the back-and-forth tag-team vibe of "Klick Clack Bang" and the lead single, "Colosseum." Other key selections include the mellower "Livin' Life" and "It's Over," with Tech and Krizz Kaliko.
