A lot has happened for Herencia de Patrones since the early-2020 release of Sorry for the Wait. That first narcotised volume in what is now a full-fledged series introduced one of the group’s biggest singles in “Lo Que Es” and sparked a slew of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Natanael Cano and Drakeo the Ruler. Now well-established as leaders in the contemporary música mexicana scene, they drop a 10-song effort for a strong fanbase eager to receive their biggest project in more than a year. Their penchant for corridos verdes serves them well on opener “Brinco en Acción” and the purp-drenched “Envenenado”. Standout moments like “Fabi” reinforce their potency as an ensemble, while emotional cuts “Lo Que Pudo Ser” and “Sin Tu Amor” demonstrate their thematic range.
