About Cedric Gervais

One of EDM’s foremost ambassadors between the worlds of pop and dance, Cedric Gervais learned his craft the old-school way, as a resident DJ. After landing a regular slot at Paris’ Le Queen club as a teenager, the Marseille native—born Cédric DePasquale in 1979—left for Miami at age 19 and soon scored residencies at local venues Crobar, Nikki Beach and Club Space. By the early 2000s, he was putting out big-room house anthems on the Ultra Records sub-label You, but it was his 2012 single “Molly” that gave his career a definitive boost—particularly when Tyga sampled the song’s cheeky refrain for his own song of the same name. The following year, Gervais scored an even bigger hit. Amid a peaking EDM scene that craved soaring, melodic uplift, Gervais delivered with a remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” that dominated the summer festival season—and subsequently reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the years since, Gervais has kept his focus trained on the overlap between dance thrills and pop melodies, collaborating with fellow crossover connoisseurs like David Guetta and Afrojack, and remixing Chic’s disco classic “Everybody Dance”.
