About Fito y Fitipaldis
Fito Cabrales, former vocalist for Spanish rock group Los Platero y Tu, left the reasonably successful group in 1998 in search of a new sound. Cabrales formed his own group, calling it Fito & Fitipaldis. Striving to synthesize such elements as soul, pop, swing, flamenco, Tex-Mex, and Latin jazz, Cabrales claims that "everything has a place in this emotional, complex-free music." By 2006, the group released the multi-platinum Por la boca vive el pe, they became one of Spain's most popular performing artists, touring extensively throughout Spain and beyond, playing some of Europe's most important venues. In 2009, they released Antes de que cuente diez, which topped the Spanish album chart for several weeks. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez
