Dan Fogelberg's work as a ‘70s singer/songwriter flits between the bittersweet ("Windows and Walls") and romantic—as on the acoustic guitar and flugelhorn-accompanied "Longer". Bringing together diverse influences to create a lasting legacy of hits, he released funkier songs, too, in "Missing You", and rockers like "The Power of Gold", adding a jazz influence to his sound—one of his many collaborations with jazz flautist Tim Weisberg. But it's perhaps for his mellow folk-rock classics like "Leader of the Band” that Fogelberg is most fondly remembered.
