George FitzGerald has come a long way from his early dubstep and UK garage days: As his signature sound has evolved, this young Londoner has been heavily influenced by German techno. His work isn't pure dance floor filler, however; though he's never forgotten the value of a good pop-house hook, his tracks are moody, ambient and delicately built, and they rely on warm, sweet, sad analogue melodies that twinkle against his minimal beats. The effect is introspective, but this is electronic music that will get into your hips as easily as it'll get into your head.
