French electronic instrumentalist Pascal Arbez, a.k.a. Vitalic, shot to fame with his massive 2001 club anthem “La Rock 01”—ruling the early '00's dance scene by shaping '70s funk, rock, pop and classical into an edgy and heavy electro-house sound. The early techno of his debut OK Cowboy evolved into infectious deep house on his 2009 follow-up Flashmob, which took sweet psychedelia and blended it with atmospheric disco. Rave Age saw Vitalic tap into a restless creativity, shifting gears to incorporate hip-hop textures into his sonic landscape.
