Let It Be was intended to be a return to fundamentals—just four musicians playing live in the studio. But creative fractures eventually led The Beatles to scuttle the month-long sessions and Let It Be only saw the light of day after being reassembled by Phil Spector (famed for his elaborate “Wall of Sound” aesthetic). Let It Be… Naked is, at long last, a realisation of the band’s original vision. Overseen by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and remastered from the original tapes, these performances offer the warmth and intimacy of the sessions with no added flourishes.
