About One Bit
The English pop-house duo One Bit features Jonty Howard and Joe Murphy, a pair of multi-instrumentalists who met while studying music production at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. After graduating in 2012, they started a studio in Hertfordshire the following year. The pair came to listeners' attention in 2014 with singles including "Limitless," "Cold," and "Not About You." That year, they also received a PRS grant to fund their work, joining the ranks of former winners James Blake and SBTRKT. From there, Howard and Murphy divided their time between One Bit singles like 2015's "Won't Hold Back" and the following year's "Circular Motion"; remixes for artists such as Syron, Vance Joy, Catchment, and Confessionals; and co-writing and co-producing tracks with JP Cooper, Nick Brewer, and Stormzy. In 2017, One Bit teamed up with Young Animal Hearts on the single "Outlier" and found some of their biggest success with "My Way," a collaboration with Noah Cyrus that arrived late in the year. ~ Heather Phares
