About Helen Forrest
By her mid-teenage years, singer Helen Forrest was appearing regularly on radio in New York City, which led to an invitation to join Artie Shaw in 1937. Two years later, Forrest moved onto the Benny Goodman band, with whom she made almost 40 recordings, including "Darn That Dream" and "The Man I Love." In 1941, Forrest joined Harry James, where she recorded a succession of beautifully crafted performances including "I Had The Craziest Dream," "I’ve Heard That Song Before," "I Don’t Want To Walk Without You," and "Skylark." From the '50s on through the early-'80s. she sang in clubs, worked in radio, recorded albums under her own name and in reunion with James.
