About Ronan Keating
As a solo artist and member of the Irish boy band Boyzone, pop singer Ronan Keating has notched nine No. 1 UK albums and more than 30 Top 10 hit singles. • An accomplished track athlete in his youth, Keating dreamed of competing in the Olympics. However, in 1993, at age 16, he traded his athletic pursuits for an opportunity to join Boyzone. • Boyzone topped the UK charts with each of their first four albums: Said and Done (1995), A Different Beat (1996), Where We Belong (1998) and By Request (1999). During that same stretch, they scored six No. 1 singles in the UK. • Keating made his solo debut in 1999, topping the UK charts with his rendition of Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing At All”. • His eponymous 2000 debut album topped the UK charts, as did his 2001 follow-up, Destination. • In 2007, Keating was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the only artist to score 30 consecutive Top 10 singles in the UK. • Keating’s 2009 album Songs for My Mother is a tribute to his mother, who died from breast cancer in 1998. • His aptly titled 2020 album Twenty Twenty hit No. 2 on the UK albums chart.
