Razorlight Essentials

Razorlight became heroes in East London's literary indie-rock scene in the early ‘00s, performing passionate, articulate songs about being young and exuberant in the new millennium. Johnny Borrell filled his lyrics with a passing cast of dreamers ("Golden Touch"), and produced empathic ruminations on love ("Vice"), friendship ("Hold On") and wild abandon ("In the Morning"). Musically, the band's ambitions have grown with their status, graduating from the insolent guitar stabs of “Rip It Up” to the stately pop sheen of “America” and the folky melancholy of the classic-rock-inspired "Hostage of Love".
