Born in Mississippi, Tammy Wynette was a sensation from the start, finding massive success with her second single "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad". The former hairdresser didn't slow down from there, releasing a string of iconic hits including "Stand By Your Man" and "D-I-V-O-R-C-E". In the '70s, Wynette's star continued to rise when she recorded a batch of beloved albums with then-husband George Jones, a country superstar in his own right. Though she continued to record and perform, Wynette was hampered by medical problems that contributed to her untimely death in 1998.
