About Joseph Habedank
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I ever took the stage was with my two younger brothers, Nathan and Timothy, at the First Baptist Church of Forest, OH. I fell in love with Gospel Music almost immediately and I knew it's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Gaither Vocal Band, The Best of the Gaither Vocal Band Michael Bublé, It's Time Steven Curtis Chapman, Signs of Life I've always loved various styles of music, and Christian Music in particular. I love the writing and artistry of Steve Curtis Chapman. I love the intricate harmonies of the Gaither Vocal Band and I love the timeless vocal textures of Michael Buble. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Basement” I celebrated 10 years of sobriety on May 25, 2023. During the beginning stages of my recovery, I attended 90 recovery meetings in 90 days and "The Basement" was written about my experiences in those rooms. It was released on my 10 year anniversary. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The GRAMMYS MusiCares paid for me to go to rehab in 2013. I thought my career was over, but in 2014 I launched my solo career. Three years later, in 2018, I was nominated for my first GRAMMY and in 2020, I received my second GRAMMY nomination. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to start a foundation to help addicts and alcoholics who can't afford treatment pay for the help they need. Sure, I'd love to win a GRAMMY and do an arena tour one day, but my heart is to reach as many people as I can with my story.
