Although long-standing guitarist Fernando von Arb was absent during its recording due to wrist surgery, Krokus’ pounding, hounding Hellraiser emphasises all of the band’s best qualities. Opening with a heartening promise from singer Marc Storace to “take it to the limit” (“Hellraiser”), this LP’s boogie-rock-infused tracks are geared toward getting people movin’ (“Too Wired to Sleep”, “No Risk No Gain”). Closer “Rocks Off!” is one of the band’s most high-octane jammers, with its steel-strong riffs and driving pace.
