Body Type

Sydney-based garage rock group Body Type marry scuzzy riffs to dream pop melodies, adding an extra layer of harmony by using two lead vocalists. Sophie McComish (guitar, vocals) got the ball rolling when she relocated from New York to Sydney. Armed with a handful of demoes, she enlisted Cecil Coleman to provide percussion. Happy with the first stages of songwriting, the duo reached out to Annabel Blackman (guitar, vocals) and Georgia Wilkinson-Derums (bass) to form the full band. Their debut single, "Ludlow," arrived in 2016, but it took a further two years of gigging to release their eponymous EP. They signed to Partisan in 2018, which also released the 2019's EP2. ~ Liam Martin
