Discovered by Herbert von Karajan when she was only 13, Mutter was soon recording the central works of the violin repertoire in the most illustrious company—Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bruch, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. Her marriage to André Previn resulted in some great music and music-making, and she is a fine chamber musician too.
