For Photay, the New York producer behind this contemplative mix, the goal was to capture the “liminal headspace between dream and waking life”. He tells Apple Music that he wanted to channel “early morning frequencies for rising gently and moving through precious time and space,” and that he included music that is already a part of daily morning ritual—a combination of coffee, cereal and a walk.
