With 17 albums under their belt, as well as three eras of existence dating back to their initial late-1970s run, British punk vanguards Wire have turned to their considerable vault on their latest release 10:20. These eight tracks include unearthed cuts that previously existed only in live form ("He Knows", "Wolf Collides") and songs from the band's deep catalogue that have been given a new coat of studio paint ("Boiling Boy", "Small Black Reptile"). Frontman Colin Newman and his compatriots have referred to these songs as "strays", but the electric vitality and sonic curiosity is instead proof that Wire is able to breathe new life into even the dustiest corners of their catalogue.
