Bananas In Pyjamas

About Bananas In Pyjamas

Bananas in Pyjamas was a popular syndicated children's television series that premiered in Australia in 1992. The program centered around the title characters, twins B1 and B2, and their friends the Teddies and Rat-in-a-Hat, all of whom lived in the storybook world of Cuddles Avenue. Musical performances and sing-alongs were a major part of each episode. The program was widely syndicated internationally, and with "Pyjamas" changed to "Pajamas" to suit U.S. audiences, the show debuted on American airwaves during the mid-'90s. In 1996 Capitol issued a collection of Bananas in Pajamas performances titled It's Singing Time. A sequel, A-Bumping and A-Jumping, appeared a year later, and releases under both the "Pyjamas" and "Pajamas" names continued into the 21st century. ~ Jason Ankeny
