Hot Shade

An enigmatic electronic music act, Hot Shade is a producer based in New York City best known for collaborating with a handful of Scandinavian musicians. In 2016, Hot Shade teamed up with Swedish EDM artist Mike Perry for the single "Touching You Again." The track was a modest success, but Hot Shade and Perry struck gold with their next project, a tune called "Talk About It," that became an international hit and racked up over 50-million plays on streaming music sites. 2017 brought even more success for Hot Shade; "My Body" (featuring Palm Trees and Sophia Ayana) and "Better" also pleased fans, with the former reaching over two million streams and the latter over six-and-a-half million. That same year, Perry and Hot Shade once again joined forces to remix "Cold" by Maroon 5 with rapper Future, and the track reached number 45 on the Dance Club Songs chart. Closing out the year in December 2017, Hot Shade brought out a new single with Norwegian vocalist Cal, "Don't Give Up on Me." ~ Mark Deming
