Hailing from San Giovanni Rotondo in Puglia, Corrado Grilli aka Mecna became a major presence on the Italian hip-hop scene when he formed Microphones Killarz in 2000. He’s since slalomed through styles as a solo artist, beginning with debut album Disco Iverno in 2012. Among his biggest hits are the minimalist reflections of “31/08” and the similarly brooding “Pratica”. His collaborations with CoCo tend to be high-energy affairs, with the irrepressible, pop-inflected “La più bella” and the subtly epic “Bromance” cases in point.
